In the absence of Lai See’s annual trip to Kathmandu two parcels have been sent to Kathmandu via DHL Uma’s children, in particular, enjoyed receiving news from their sponsors. Some little gifts of moisturisers, knitted hats and gloves, make up bags, talcum powder and underclothing brought smiles to their faces. The letters to other sponsored children will be given to the schools to pass on. It is a respite from the relentless pressure of 24 hours in lockdown since March when the schools were closed.
