The children from Parapokar Orphanage, Lubhoo School and others came today to receive their sponsor’s letters. It is also an opportunity for Uma and myself to get to know the mums better. It is giving the sponsored children some focused attention to talk to them about their studies, a pep talk about KIKN expectations etc.
Need Barahi School is very fortunate to have a high achieving Principal and a high performing team of teachers. The Principal, Januka, has made her school to be the BEACON school in the area with great support from KIKN since 2009. The 6th formers ( year 11& 12) now number over 300 from only 8
Ishwor School is the 4th school that KIKN has supported. It is a small school with approximately 80 pupils, many of whom beg in the streets before and after school to help their families make ends meet. On a balmy May evening at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Lai See and Kate, two of our Trustees, ran 5K and 10K respectively in order to raise money for Futures For Kids (FFK), a charity that have been instrumental in helping us to improve the facilities in the four schools that we support. With
