KIKN held its annual gathering for its 40 sponsored children and their parents on Saturday 15th September. The rain stayed away and we had a full house of children and parents. Just under 80 turned up for the delicious food and a pack of winter clothing from KIKN.
It was an opportunity for KIKN to meet up with some of the mothers to reinforce the importance of education and their role in it.
It was heartening to see the 10 6th formers getting together and talking to one another. KIKN’s first graduate Asmita, was on hand to talk to the younger ones. She will sponsor a child in the near future (as she promised) to continue the cycle of putting something back.
It was emotional to see some of the 6th formers at the Open day, fully aware of their horrific home conditions. They are all very resilient. They were smiling and truly happy to be there amongst the KIKN family.
