Lubhoo School – Part One

My first visit to this beautiful school. Overwhelmed by the amazing welcome from the staff and children. It is KIKN’S third school. Our aim has been to provide improved facilities to help improve the life chances of the pupils there.
Lu means gold, bhoo means plate. Lubhoo means plate of gold with plentiful bounty. This small village has very fertile land. They grow rice and wheat consecutively each year with more than the average yield. It is situated on the eastern side of Kathmandu. Most of the villagers are farmers, and to a smaller extent, textile traders. They live off the land, many at subsistence level.
Many of the children attending Lubhoo School come from the local village. KIKN has provided funds for 20 computers with solar panels installed. A new breakfast club for 100 children started a few weeks ago. A Science lab has also been set up in the school.
There are other needs in the school, however, the kids and the staff wanted to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who has donated and supported KIKN to make all of this happen.
