Spring 2013

CHINESE NEW YEAR OPEN HOUSE, Saturday, 16th February 2013

Kong Hee Fatt Choy to everyone!

Lai See hosted yet again another highly successful get-together to help celebrate Chinese New Year – and to raise funds for KIKN. A good attendance of 25 people, all in good spirits and in a celebratory mood, helped set the scene for welcoming in the Chinese New Year.

As usual, a stunning array of delicious Malaysian fare saw tables groaning with tempting dishes – and there was plenty for everbody! Free-flowing wine and beer was at hand to compliment the fine dishes and to prepare the way for some serious celebrating.

2013 heralds in the Year of the Snake, and the traditional Chinese New Year colour of red – the colour of good fortune – was highlighted in the party decor, picked up in the dress of our host, and many of our guests. This was again a very special day which raised over £500 for KIKN. And we’ll do it all over again for Chinese New Year in 2014!

A very big ‘Thank you’ to everyone who supported the event in every which way.
